Problems With O2 and Topcashback

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi There,

Has anyone else had problems with O2/Topcashback?

I signed up for a deal back in Novemeber which promised £115 cashback. To date nothing has been forthcoming. I have contacted Topcashback numerous time who just keep saying it's O2s fault as they haven't been paid by them.

After over 23 weeks waiting I now feel that I was mis-sold my contract by O2 and Topcashback and can't seem to get any closer to receiving the cash!

Just wondered if anyone else had any issues or any advice?

Thanks.

@Anonymous can I please ask, were you an existing o2 customer or were you with another network when you signed up to this deal?

Hi piperdog123,

I was with 3 prior to joining O2. The cashback was a deciding factor, hence feeling like I was mis-sold the contract.

Thanks for the update @andyGH.

Ok so you meet the criteria so that is fine. I will assume as you are a member of topcashback that you followed the following process:

1. Went to www.topcashback.co.uk
2. Signed into your tcb account
3. Searched for o2
4. Clicked on the tcb link to o2 which takes you to the o2 website
5. Chose your package on o2 and placed your order whilst on the same visit having clicked through from tcb.

Once you placed your order your account "should" have recorded the transaction and your cash back should have tracked.

So assuming you did all of that then I would expect your cash back with o2 to take between 3 and 6 months.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the responses and suggestions.

The deal has tracked correctly through Topcashback and is still showing as pending. I've contacted them numerous times and all I keep getting told that it's not there fault it's O2. I've been waiting over 24 weeks now and they still advertise and claim that O2 are faster paying which plainly isn't correct. I'm quite sure that neither O2 or Topcashback would have been so patient if I'd owed them this money. Will certainly be avoiding both in future and still feel I was mis-sold this deal.

Any other ideas welcome.

Thanks again.

I'm afraid all you can do is keep going back to TCB as it is their responsibility.

Your purchase hasc tracked.
You still have the contract.
You pay for your contract.

So o2 should agree to pay TCB so they can pay you.

If it's tracked and pending then I am afraid it's a waiting game - once O2 pay topcashback your account will update, in the meantime it's worth getting onto topcashback to nudge them to chase it up on your behalf.

Have you not used topcashback before? You should never buy something based on the cashback you SHOULD get as alot of people never get paid or the cashback is rejected and its always unknown if its TCB keeping the cash and dont pay out or person you brought it from ( in this case o2 )

But if it still says pending my guess is O2 hasnt even reviewed it yet anyway so i would just wait and hope you get it eventually and look at it as a added bonus if you do slight_smile

I use Quidco and that's hit and miss too.
It's a bonus if you get it most of the time.....

When you go through TCB, you have to pass a 6 month validation period to ensure you don't cancel your plan beforehand. Once this validation period ends, then the cashback should show as confirmed at some point. There is no timescale for this so from what you've described everything seems to be okay. Obviously if it goes to declined then it's time to make a move.
