Hi.. just a query re PAYG. My daughter is currently using my old Galaxy Y (as she lost her LG) She is on Unlimited Tariff. A couple of times she has received a picture or MMS that doesnt come through and just states 'downloading' (but never does download) She wont turn on mobile data to receive the message/picture as she is worried that she will be charged £1.99 data charge.I didnt think that would happen on this tariff? What else can she do, in order to receive MMS/pictures? Thanks all

With the Galaxy Y...she says screen and keyboard too small and also the memory is poor? So what she would like, (if such a phone exists) is a something under £100, with a similar screen to the LG and a bigger memory, though she does have to stick to PAYG? (PS I have told her she better register on this forum herself as I have enough questions of my own to post!) Smiley LOL

I agree, she should come along and say hello at least slight_smile
Personally, I'd be looking at this https://www.o2.co.uk/shop/phones/sony/xperia-u-refurb/ but as always I suggest she goes into a store and has a look at what is on offer.....

Thanks again for your help. I have sent her the link you provided. My daughter has assured me a) She will join the forum :smileyhappy:and b) Is very interested in the phone shown on that link. Going back to the original topic thread however, I have just sent her a picture and it is still sitting in her text inbox showing 'downloading' even with packet data turned on? Smiley Frustrated

It will need the correct apn on the phone. This is going to get complicated via a 3rd party wink

She needs to get these settings into her phone under settings >wireless and networks >mobile networks >access point names http://mobileguide.o2.co.uk/devices/device.jsp?deviceId=805&tab=8&step=2&settingId=4298

Hiya and welcome aboard slight_smile
The "Y" in Galaxy Y stands for "young" so I guess they are more suited to smaller fingers wink

That makes sense and i was also so used to my LG it was like part of me some of us get attached to these damn phones. I do like the look of the Xperia though my son had one till he upgraded to the S3, he could have passed it down to me if he wasn't so clumsy with his phones.
