Hi All, I have a Pixel4a and am using it with a Lebara physical Sim and an O2 e-Sim.
I have a regular issue where I get a notification about a missed call on O2 and when I
check I have all the indication icons of a good signal, but when I ring my Pixel phone (O2 number)
from another phone, it does not ring and it goes to voice mail. When I try and ring out from the
Pixel phone (using the O2 e-Sim), it doesn't work either, but I am able to ring the Lebara physical
Sim number, and make calls using this too. Restarting the phone sorts out the issue for a while.
This doesn't happen all the time, but it creeps up on me and I am only aware of it when
I get a notification of a missed O2 call or see a voicemail icon on the Pixel phone.
This issue is most inconvenient, I really want to stay with using the O2 e-sim as I need to
be contactable (I have health issues that necessitate frequent calls to/from my specialists
which I don't want to miss) so that is why I wanted dual Sim functionality, but it's a chocolate
teapot if the phone doesn't ring when called. I suppose I'll just have to leave O2 or go back to a
physical O2 sim and forget about trying to use e-Sim as well - I searched the forum and a previous
post on a similar issue said it was a known fault with O2 and e-Sims. This previous post was in 2020,
does anyone know if O2 is anywhere near addressing this issue?

I have a few o2 esims and not seen this issue across multiple different devices, I use for testing. (inc Pixel 7 Pro and 6 Pro).. all with EE or Three sims as well.
What software version are you on for the Pixel 4a?
I would also reach out to Google direct as I have a feeling its the phone that is causing the issue? Have you tried a network refresh or a factory reset? (backup data first, and you will need to get a replacement esim as well first and then do a sim swap).

Have you tried deleting your esim and reloading it?

I'm on Android 13, latest update. I had this problem even before I updated it to 13.
I'll try and get a replacement e-sim, hopefully, the support line won't make me jump
through too many hoops to get one. If that doesn't work I'll try a factory reset.

Got a new e-Sim from the very helpful staff at Redhill O2 branch.
Loaded up OK and no problems as yet - early days though.
I'll update in a couple of Months. Thanks all!

I have admitted defeat and went back to physical SIM for O2 on my Pixel 4A.
I had an intermittent issue with some calls (random numbers, once a month or so)
going straight to voicemail. Yesterday I had two, different numbers that called at
a similar time, go straight to voicemail, and I just got a later notification on the phone of a
message, but later the phone rang normally. Much though I would love to use the dual-sim feature,
I feel I cannot trust it to work as expected, and so am ditching my Lebara physical sim and moving
O2 from eSim back to physical sim. Hopefully this will stop this issue from occurring.
I do not know if it is a glitch with the Pixel 4A implementation of eSim, or an issue with O2's,
but I cannot afford to miss calls (I have severe health issues and so does my daughter, and I am called frequently by health professionals, these calls I cannot miss.
Many thanks to all on this forum who gave helpful advice, I am sorry not to have better news.

Good thought, @gmarkj - but my 4A was physical SIM only, I never bothered with the eSim.
I think it actually made moving from my 4A (4G) to my current 6A with a new 5G SIM a doddle, tbf - "Swap your SIM" in MyO2, and enter the SIM serial, 3mins later, service was moved - how it should be!
