Paying Off Contract Early

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

I'm new to the forum, and I wanted to ask a question about paying off my contract early.

I have 5 months left of my 24 month contract. I was wondering, the amount I pay off on the remaining 5 months, what should this amount include? Is it just the monthly charge (x5) or will the blackberry monthly bolton and monthly phone insurance be included too in the calculating of how much I need to pay, to pay off contract early?

Liam.

Ok, just to clear up any misunderstanding and feeling that some top posters don't feel that "Time and again they go to the trouble of sometimes lengthy responses to questions to only get additional pertinent information later on"

Yes you are correct, I didn't clearly give all relevant info, so my apologises!

Adding to my first question - I wish to remain with O2, after all, I've had an outstanding service with them! I am just very unhappy with my BlackBerry, so much so, that I can't really put up with it for another 5 months. I also want to keep my existing phone number too!

Just wanted to know guys, what I can expect O2 to calculate the price of paying off my contract early? I understand from replies already to my post that they shouldn't add VAT or include the monthly boltons prices to the payoff price. Is there anything else?

Thank you guys for your input on this, I really appreciate it!

Liam.

They shouldn't include the VAT, but they do. They will knock off any bolt ons for BB services though so I expect this to be £5 off your monthly bill, then multiply your basic monthly bill by the amount of months remaining. That's all there is to it wink

Hi MI5,

I also have O2 Premier Insurance on my BlackBerry which I understand is a bolton, will O2 knock off this O2 insurance bolton too?

"They shouldn't include the VAT, but they do!" How can I stop them from doing this if they shouldn't be doing so?

Thanks,

Liam.

You could sell the Blackberry and use the funds to help pay for another type of smartphone and stay with 02 !

Just a thought.

Yes the insurance will be knocked off too. I don't think there is anything you can do about the VAT aspect other than have a moan slight_smile

Thank you for the thought, but, don't think anyone will want to buy a bad BlackBerry Torch 9810.
