PAC Code O2 to O2...

Anonymous
Not applicable

I'm trying to pre-order the Lumia 930 from CPW and they said my details were not showing up for my O2 upgrade. They're suggesting that my address or some details I'm giving do not match what's against my O2 account...but as far as I'm aware everything matches up!

I'm definitely out of contract and O2 recently put me on a 30-day rolling SIM-only deal which also keeps me free to upgrade.

I also had a read on CPW website which said I can't upgrade until 6 months have passed on a SIM-free contract?!?! Seems a bit silly...http://selfhelp.carphonewarehouse.com/SelfHelp/request.do?view()=c{775c4b10-aa48-11e1-7419-f20203001...

Anyways - as in the subject, I thought forget about upgrading how about starting a new O2 contract and use a PAC code to port my number over to it? Can this be done?

Yes, you just need to ask O2 to move your number and yes again, give 30 days notice on your 30 day sim today and it will not be renewed next month.
I suggest you call 202 to get this sorted when you get your new contract from CPW.

You can buy the phone sim free and just use your current sim, as another option or start another contract and move your number (you don't need to PAC, just move).
If you're sure you have a 1 month rolling sim you should be able to upgrade, but maybe you are on a 12 month sim only tariff?
Your "My O2" will tell you.

What do you mean by starting a new contract and "just move"? Can I ask O2 to simply transfer my number over to the new contract then?

This is what it says on My O2 - "O2 Simplicity ultd 30D 1GB 4G". It also renews today so do you suggest cancelling it, getting the new contract?

So I've just done that. Bought the CPW deal and O2 said to simply call them up and transfer the number.

Though knowing how bad the Lumia 930 release has gone so far it probably won't be released tomorrow...

FYI - just seen EE go live with the same deal. £30 a month, free phone, 1000 mins, unlimited texts, 1GB data.

Come on O2!

Enjoy and let us know what the phone is like once you've had a play with it slight_smile

I would also advocate once you have decided on your deal and network to check on quidco and topcashback to see if cash back might be available. Sometimes it is possible to get over £100 back as cash back but do remember to check that the deal toy get is good. Never purchase just on the back of cash back.
