On and off problems with O2 to O2 texting

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi,

For the last few weeks a few O2 users I know have been having on and off problems, seemingly with O2 to O2 texting, that lasts few a few hours upto 24 hours, and then suddenly all the texts come through.

During the "outage", texts from other networks seem to get through, just not O2 to O2.  Sometimes some O2 texts get through in one direction, but not the replies.

It's now starting to get annoying. Any suggestions?

Many thanks,

David

Hi @Anonymous One or two others seem to have had the same problem recently Check your network status here http://status.o2.co.uk/

If no reported problems then speak to customer services http://www.o2.co.uk/contactus

It's been reported so all customers can do is wait for o2 to fix it.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

It is annoying and because it can happen with any network from time to time, it's always a good idea to have another messaging app as a backup. I use What's App because you can actually send photos and videos and also make calls or video calls. It uses minimal data when youre out and about and your home WiFi (if you have it). Also, you can see if your messages have been delivered and also if they've been opened and read. It's easy to get your friends on it by just sending an invitation. The app is free from either the App Store or the Play Store. If you already knew all this, I apologise. Its impossible to know what people already know!
Viber is another messaging/calling app and Facebook Messenger is another.
I have my sister and friends in the States on What's App.

Thanks for all your help.

It's still not back after 24 hours now, it's the longest it's been down. Think this could be three strikes and you're out; time to look at switching network I think.

Thanks again,

David
