Old Phone Stolen - New Sim Won't Work?

Anonymous
Not applicable

Evening All,

First time poster and hope you can help.

I lost my phone on Wednesday and immediately rang O2 and they barred my sim card and sent me out a new sim card. They told me I would need to activate it when I got it.

The new sim arrived and I used the O2 Online Chat to talk to a representative who said the new sim card would be activated within 24 hours.

The next morning the sim card was working however I cannot make or receive calls and whenever I try and send a text message it comes up with the error "Sending Failed. Message Barred".

Is there some step I need to take to get my sim card working or has their been a mistake by the representative on the Chat?  I am unable to use the chat and don't have access to a phone at the moment but I was hoping to get some advice before contacting them again on Monday.

Any suggestions at all?

Your account will have a block on it. CS should have seen this and removed it so you need to chase them up to do it for you.

I'm afraid so if you look around this forum you will see nearly everyone is in favour of getting rid of live chat the trouble is they are based in another country and normally just read from script I personally don't use them I always call 202 when I can slight_smile
