O2 Contract Ending, Found replacement O2 contract through third party website how do I Change over with the least amount of problems? I want to keep my number but get the new cheaper contract with new phone. Do I need special Codes to transfer? Do I need to close one before starting a new one? Can O2 simply update my current account to the new tariff and handset? Many thanks.

If the 3rd party website is one of the comparison sites like MSM or USwitch they will direct you to O2. It should ask if this is a new account of upgrade. Simply choose upgrade.

If that option is not available just take out a new contract then migrate your old number across

Guide: Migration & porting into O2

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
