New spam / phishing text ''from 02''

02 confirmed that the text I received today was indeed spam / phishing text

The text states that 02 cannot make up your latest bill, there is some information missing from your account. It also says that to avoid payment of fees one should contact an https  website address in order to complete one's details

Fortunately 02 had sent me my bill. The https looked spurious. And fees?  PLUS Id had a text the previous day which was obviously not from 02 and  I had deleted it.

02 Live Chat confirmed this  text was a new phishing message and thanked me.

So if you get anything dont use it and check with 02 first

I also received the following phishing SMS: "o2: Your last payment declined. To resume service, please update billing now at <Link Removed>

And another just now: "o2: We couldn't process your last payment. To resume service, please update billing now at <Link Removed>

It's a well known scam.

Block the number and do not follow any links.

Forward the scam text to 7726 - It's free.

This is exactly how innocent customers get their numbers barred because the scammers spoof real numbers.

Where is the facility for blocking numbers please....... i.e steps to take.  My phone is an oap phone but I can use it as android if the facility is within this,    or is it via o2?

Othernumbers.... 24442 from 02 ? survey re reccommending 02. How would one know this is genuine?

Ignore the survey or any other texts / emails asking for such rubbish.

To block a number, long press on it from your call list and choose block this number from the pop up.

Today I had a text from a well known ''Bank''  . I had reason to know this was spam and Ive become suspicious of 6 figure nos. texts that want me to ring that number urgently . 

I will attempt to block it.
