New O2 Refresh Contract - No Signal - Cancel but keep phone?

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi there

I moved house two years ago and had to say goodbye to O2 because of awful service coverage.

According to the network coverage map, O2 had apparently done work in the meanwhile, and with good indoor and outdoor coverage now showing, I ordered a new Refresh package complete with iPhone 5c.

However, in reality, it seems as if the coverage map is wrong.  The coverage is awful and so I'm going to have to ditch it again.  VERY frustrating.

Is there any way that I can cancel the airtime contract but carry on paying for the phone?  Now that the credit agreement is in place, it seems a pity to have to go through the hassle of having to send it back etc.

I'd be cancelling within both the cooling off AND change-your-mind period.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Oli

I believe you can only pay off the phone part, so it looks as if you will have to cancel.

I would get an unlocked phone and try sims from all the providers to see which gives you the best cover.

It's a wireless signal, and there will always be duff areas and dead pockets whoever you are with.
