We have a Netgear MR1100 connected to a Poynting XPOL-1, 2dB, 5m Cable. We are at the maximum height and can only get 2 bars. Keeping in mind signal loss, can anyone suggest whether we should extend the cable or instal a higher gain Antenna. We know that there are 3 bars of signal a little bit higher. If different Antenna, any recomended models.
Thanks, Peter

Is that antenna uni-directional?
If so, go higher or increase gain.

Thanks, Yes +2dB Uni. My understanding is that there is about a 1dB drop per 5 metres of cable. So adding another 5m to height may negate any benefit from the current Antenna. Any recomended make/model?

RS do a good range but as usual, you get what you pay for.....
Not sure on your budget but 4dbi gain https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/gsm-gprs-antennas/1328139/

Sounds to be spot on. Price is fine. What cost perfection? I'll research that.
All the best
