Hi Just just wondering if anyone else has the same problem and what the solution is ? Both myself and my hubby have 02 pay and go phones basic ones for texting and calling. Over the past few months we have been experiencing problems with the signal on our phones dropping down then up and so on

This means that family members cant ring us half the time or if we ring them the call drops and disconnects . Texting seems to be ok

We have tried a new sim 02 3g and also taken the sim out cleaned it and replaced it back

Our son also has 02 and he can not get a signal at out house either ?

Really puzzled as we have been with 02 for years and lived ayt the same address for years ! Any answers appreciated please .

Apologies for the long post

thank you

I have the same problem.  I can sit in the same place in my house and watch the signal go up and down.  My HTC Sensation XE moves from no signal at all (the phone then displays other operators with a signal and invites SIM registration) to one bar, then two and then three.  It then drops back again to no signal.  The phone is in the same position throughout and is not in a case.

Switching just to 2G makes no difference whatsoever.  Different weather conditions make no difference whatsoever.  Cleaning the SIM makes no difference whatsoever.

The O2 coverage checker says that the 2G signal here is good (5 bars) inside and out.  It isn't.

I am amazed at the suggestion that the 2G signal should be consistent because that is certainly not the case here.  What is causing this level of variation?

Needless to say my O2 phone is useless for making calls here.  The calls just drop out.

Hi sounds like your in the same position as me !! Really annoying to say the least . I have actually just had a phone call from 02 on the landline asking questions eg any new buildings gone up ( answer no) Then they said the engineers will investigate and ring me back so thats somethin I suppose .

What have 02 said to you ?

I am having the same problem.. signal is very poor, or keeps going up and down (May 2014) where normally I have full bar. I have googled this problem and tried to locate why this is happening but can't seem to find a reason as to why this is happening. I have turned my phone off and on. still nothing changed. I am really puzzled.

Hi, both mine & my wife's phones are the same. We have them in one place in the house & the signal goes up & down, then drops completely. Just outside the back door & we can get full signal.....

We are in IV2 7QP near Inverness.

A relatively new house (2 years) & i wonder if this problem is caused by foil-lined expansion foam insulation in the walls acting as a sort of "faraday cage" blocking signal?

Have you taken the opportunity to check if there are any signal issues in your area?
