Moving o2 number to another O2 sim?

I want to buy my husband a new phone ofr xmas will need to be from another shop tho not o2 cause they dont have it but be buyin it on o2, i need to buy a £10 top up at other shop but know he cant change his number and dont want to waste the top up on the sim, can he transfer his exsisting number to another sim later on?

Yes the credit on his current SIM will move with the number. The £10 top up willl have to be used first on the new SIM. It can be done in store or by calling Customer services, whichever is easiest for you. To avoid having to buy the £10 top up you could look into buying the new phone SIM free.

YAY great, ok will he just need to call customer sevices or go into a shop then, does credit move or just the number? thanks

great thanks, ive looked at it sim free but works out alot more, he wants the xperia miro in white and ive only found one shop selling it so sort of tied there, thanks again slight_smile
