Hi its been years since I switched mobile provider been with o2 for years. I understand about the PAC code - and giving this to a new phone company, my question is My O2 contract is up in January and since the USWITCH route to renew contract at a really good price is closed and the fact I cant get through to o2 to discuss renewal options as what they are currently offering me on my o2 account is way to high I think im switching. But do I need to physically cancel my o2 contract which ends early January 2026 or if i switch will it automatically close ? I checked and if I switch now I have zero early termination charges to pay so can move - but really want to make sure I do it right as I need to keep my mobile number.

Thanks D.

You have 30 days since the notice to leave without penalty if you want to do it now. Just do it with a PAC code, once the number transfers your O2 account ends.

Or get a PAC in the last month of your contract and move then

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
