We used to pay Virgin direct but the new bill shows the incorrect mobile number and no mention of my wifes mobile, what do I do?

I assume you both now have O2 SIM cards? Or is one on O2 and the other still Virgin?
Most likely one showing the temporary number before your Virgin number transfer.
