I have received an email saying 'Just confirming your order has gone through' and citing an order number. But I haven't made any order and I don't understand why I have received this message.

This can happen for customers that have migrated from Virgin to align their bills but you can check with O2 if you wish.
This looks like something you’d need to call O2’s customer service team about – give them a call on 202, 0344 809 0202, or specific payment management number 0800 902 0217 / 0800 032 5302
