MMS: SERVICE NOT ACTIVATED: GOOGLE NEXUS 4

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hi All,

I hope you can help me with this issue.

I have spoken to O2, but get no help what so ever, just excuses and "I don't know" answers.

I have a Google Nexus 4 and I want to send and receive MMS messages. I have tested the phone with Vodafone and Three networks sending/receiving MMS and all works fine... However not so with O2.

I keep getting the message " SERVICE NOT ACTIVATED"

I have checked/re-checked all settings, tried various alternative suggestions but still the same error. I can browse the internet over GPRS and 3G, but not send or receive MMS.

I believe that there is an error on my account, but O2 will not look into it for me. Am I the only person to have bought this wonderful phone, but had the misfortune of dealing with O2 or do others struggle with this issue?

If anyone could shed a little light it would be greatly apperciated.

Pay monthly CS are really helpful! Can't fault them. I've only ever called pay and go CS 2 or 3 times. You could try visiting a shop and getting them to look into your account

You are on pay and go right?

Pay and go apn: payandgo.o2.co.uk
Paymonthly apn: wap.o2.co.uk

If you are on pay and go, txt the word pic on to 21400, or phone CS on 4445 (pay and go) 202 (pay monthly)

Yes I have checked the APN, all settings are correct, I tried your suggestion but O2 does not recognise PIC as a word command. I have phoned CS too many times to count, but they just keep giving me the same settings... they do not even understand that I have a Google Nexus 4, they keep saying I have a Samsung GS2.. lol... I think they think I'm lying! lol

CS are useless and will not look at my account, they keep blaming Google, but I have tested on other networks, all works fine, even on Three! Just O2 which are proving useless... Thanks

You need to ask for MMS to be reprovisioned - This means taking MMS off your account and re adding it. Call and tell them to do this for you....

The internet works fine on 3G and GPRS, I get the same problem when using a different phone, I have tested this already 😞

The Error message states "SERVICE NOT AVAILABLE ON NETWORK"

Do you know what the Data Bearer setting is: LTE, eHRDP or UNSPECIFIED

Thanks
