Anonymous

Hi bit of help please.

I got laid off from work and currently have a contract that still has a year to run at £37 a month.

Can i call O2 and ask them to lower my bill ? like take away unlimited texts or lower my call limit?

Thanks.

Probably best to get in touch as soon as possible and explain what's happening to see if they can help.

Any bolt ons can be removed.

Could anyone else take over the contact for you?

If it's a valuable phone you could sell it to help with the payments and get a cheaper one to use.

When did you take out the contract?

If you go onto MYO2, can you tell us the exact tariff name you have? It usually starts with a Q and appears in your bill under 'My Tariffs'?

Also, if there are any extra boltons such as internet etc.

If your tariff is a Q12 - as in taken out in 2012 onwards - it won't be able to be downgraded.

If its a Q11 or previous you will be able to, as long as you are 1/2 way through your contract.

You should be able to drop one level which is equivalent to around £5 a month.
