I have just switched from O2 (after many years) to another provider.  I got my PAC code, gave to the new provider and the number has been switch.  However, do I still need to contact O2 to make sure may account has been cancelled or will the new provider do that for me?

I have not received anything from O2 about my account closing.  I was out of contract so didn’t have  anything outstanding.  (I checked before I switched).

Once your O2 SIM is disconnected and your new SIM is active with your original number you O2 account has ended

Leave your Direct Debit running for a month in case there are extra charges

Thats it

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
