@NathR

Your contract continues on a rolling monthly basis unless you cancel or upgrade Guide: Cancelling Your Contract

You can cancel Guide: Cancelling Your Contract

Or choose to upgrade

Or if happy with your phone, choose to upgrade to sim only .

Hope that helps wink

So I need to get a STAC code sent to the phone?

The problem is I actually got the contract out for someone else and don't have access to that phone anymore.

Is it possible to speak to someone either by online chat or by phone during opening hours and have it cancelled that way?

Thank you both!

@NathR Customer service numbers are here: Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support

Because you're not buying anything, O2 doesn't consider your call important, so use the Lost/Stolen or Fraud option if you have to, to get through. Otherwise you'll just be disconnected.

Alternatively, if you have an O2 contract yourself, below is the advice from an O2 Guru on how to get through.
Call 202 from your mobile.
When it comes to the reason you are calling, stay silent for 15 seconds and you will be taken to the keypad options.
Press 2 for Everything Else
Press 5 for More Options
Press 7 for Anything Else which will put you though to someone.

If the contract was in your name, then yes you can speak to O2 about cancelling.

If the contract is in someone elses name, then you will have a problem (unless you can speak to them about cancelling)

All contact numbers for O2 are in this guide Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support

You can get a new sim sent to you by reporting it lost. O2 will then send you a new sim which you can then use to text the codes to cancel it.
