Wow, I don't think I'll be in any rush to go for this, I nearly choked on a rather good whisky:
4G tariffs
No one expected the next mobile internet step to be cheap. The entry level contract for 4G mobile broadband smartphones will set you back £36 per month and give a measly 500MB data allowance – so at 12Mb per second you’ll have shot your bolt in about 40 minutes.
The top tier tariff will be a whopping £56 per month and give a more respectable 8GB monthly limit.
If you need extra data in a month, it will be available in 50MB (£3), 500MB (£6), 2GB (£15) and 4GB (£20) data add ons.
You can read the article here:

That is just NUTS! I thought they would be expensive but offer lots more higher data. But this is just totally and utterly bonkers!

I think "bonkers" covers it, I wonder how many will be signing up for that much money for such a small allowance?
Defeats the whole point of 4G doesn't it?

I would hope not but the people who rush headlong into things can't be accused of being rational.

I saw them this morning at work, but just not had time to come on the forum.
Well there rubbish and not great value at all. 4G is all about Data and internet, but EE are still only giving 500mb on the lowest tariff, why? The whole point of 4G at the moment is internet speed. So instead of pushing this they charge a premium to use it.
Now i no why i left Orange all them years back !!
I have a few friends who have gone to EE for 4G becuase of the press etc. I actually said, do you know what 4G is. Answers were, yes its a new mobile network isnt it and its really fast.
Next question was, yes but you have to have a phone that supports the 4G network and where you live, you not even on the list for 4G.
Answer: Well it says EE on my phone and i get it now.
I have now explained what its all about and its oh, well it looked good in adverts !!
I think i will stay with o2.... So you have me for a little while longer lol

Perhaps they are realising the implications and the strain on the wallet.
