EDGE does not work, painfully slow

Anonymous

Hi,

I have found that when I cannot get onto the "H" or "3G" network, I cannot access data at all. The EDGE network is actually too slow to actually work.

This is both at my place of work (Central London SE1) and home address.

If EDGE cannot work in Central London where is it meant to work?

There is nothing wrong with the masts, or any service problems, it just seems like the EDGE service on offer from o2 is not good enough.

I'm not the only one with this problem: http://community.o2.co.uk/t5/Pay-Monthly-and-Pay-Go/EDGE-Doesn-t-work/td-p/478240

Is o2 doing anything to help with this?

Mmmm I am starting to wonder about the O2 network! from my home address I am now continuously getting people complaining about poor voice quality, apparently I sound garbled and like a darlek even though I have 5 bars of signal! I have heard this myself by ringing my landline and listening! If I redial maybe 3 or 4 times I eventually get a clear line. Also I was in Luton today and was trying to use Google and couldn't get any pages to load even with 5 bars of 3G signal! After about 10 minutes the net suddenly burst into life.
I have just transferred my Mum onto Virgin who use the EE network and her voice calls are crystal clear compared to O2 and 3G coverage seems a lot better.

Every networks coverage varies depending on where you are in the country.
You need to choose the network that works best for you in your location.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

I've been with O2 for 6 or 7 years, never had problems at my home address before only recently, and when it happens I still have 4 or 5 bars of signal.
