Hey, all ! first time poster here apologies in advance for the long winded gripe, just looking for a few insights from the community on a matter regarding a deposit refund ive been anxiously awaiting.

I had paid the first three monthly bills successfully and on time and saw the money had been put into my O2 account as credit.

SO I called O2 CS last week on a Thursday morning to request my refund be returned to my bank account and had been told that would be fine and that they had went ahead and sent it through during the call.

Yesterday I'd noticed my deposit was still sitting in my O2 account as credit. I was a little wary though not too concerned, however decided to give CS a ring, you know, just for peace of mind that the refund had actually been put through.

Well, much to my shock and confusion I was told in that call that the refund had only been put through THAT DAY (not on the Thursday when I'd first called and been told it had been sorted) and I would be expected to wait a further seven days!

I've received no other confirmation at all, not after my call on Thursday or yesterday, that I would be receiving my money.

Here I enquire, has anyone else had a similar issue with O2?

Is it standard practice for them to delay a deposit refund like that (after claiming it had already been put through) without warning?

Is this something I should be escalating or putting in a complaint about?

O2 has been decent up until this issue, however this situation really rubbed me the wrong way and I don't do well with being left in the dark or lied to especially as I've done my part in paying my bills on time as requested. ://

Thank you for taking the time to read this!

@magikuriboh Normally deposits are refunded in the fourth month if you've paid your first three months successfully, so whoever you spoke to in customer service was telling you a porky.

Yea, see ! the thing is, they'd refunded it as credit to my O2 account so they have technically given it back to me which is fantastic,, however I called them to have it transferred to my bank acc and have been told it's been processed on two different dates :ss

So honestly yea, definitely feels like someone be fibbing ://

I'd be satisfied if they would admit a mistake was made or someone had forgotten to process it if that were the case, it happens !

that would feel far more reassuring than being brushed off and left to keep guessing 😬🫥

I will ask an O2 account advisor to clarify this for you. They will send you a private message through this page.

@O2Ryan or @O2Emma can you please assist @magikuriboh?
