Confused about data usage?

I wonder if you can help me interpret my data usage?

I received a message saying I had used up my 8Gb data. However, according to my phone, I have used 3.7Gb mobile data and 8.4Gb wifi.

My understanding was the my data bundle was for MOBILE data, so I thought I had only used half the amount.  I thought that wifi data was not considered to be part of the 8Gb allowance.

I tried contacting  customer service but the person couldn't understand my question and kepts saying that I'd used the data.  Perhaps I have.  I'm just trying to clarify my understanding as I'm quite confused now!

Thanks in advance for any info you can provide.

It is only mobile data, not wifi.

Check your MyO2 for an accurate report http://www.o2.co.uk/myo2

Your phone may not have the correct billing cycle entered so could be reporting usage incorrectly.

Thanks for your reply @MI5 , I hadn't thought about the data cycles being out of sync.  I'll be sure to double check that.  Seems something isn't right somewhere.
