Charged after device plan was cleared

Hello, I recently upgraded my phone and made use of O2 paying off the rest of my plan. However, I got billed for some of it this morning, with the new phone payment due in 15 days. How comes I payment still got took?

It was probably the pro rata days left to pay before new contract starts.
