Hi
I've just changed from an O2 Pay Monthly 'no-contract tariff' to a Pay Monthly '12m contract tariff'.
The monthly charge is less for the new deal. Do I have to cancel the existing direct debit or will it be automatically adjusted to the new payment?
If I have to cancel the existing direct debit can someone advise on how to do this.
Thank you.

Hi @Grip
Did you UPGRADE? If so then you need to do nothing. Your new contract will carry on as before as everything is changed on the system.
There is a difference if you took out a new contract. This will mean you have two contacts running UNLESS your old contract was fully paid off.
Don't cancel any direct debit until you check with O2 as to whether you have upgraded, or taken out a new contract.
All numbers for O2 are in this guide Guide: Coronavirus Community Help and Support
Edited to add I've just noticed you say you were on a No contract tariff before? Do you mean PAYG?
Either way if you had a direct debit in place, there will be no need to chance anything. O2 will inform you of any terms and condiitions. Just give them a call.

Hi Cleriff
I'm on a 'no contract' monthly deal. By that I mean its SIM only and I'm not tied in. Its not PAYG as I have unlilited texts, calls and a data limit.
I wouldn't call it an up-grade as I haven't up-graded my phone - as I say it's SIM only. I've gone from that to a SIM only 12m contract (ie tied in for 12m month).
As you say, I'm going to have to call them. Thanks for the response.
