Change tarriff

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have 5GB of data on my monthly tarriff. I am consistently using only around 1GB. I have tried to change my tarriff to what I need which would obviously be cheaper but I am being shown only a recommendation for 8GB. Given O2 gave my usage history - I am rather annoyed that a loyal customer is being robbed in this way. How can I change my tarriff. I have a separate phone plan and I am on a sim only tarriff so am not held to contract. I have been with o2 for over 7 years but this is not encouraging me to stay with them ........ there are plenty of other options out there!

If you have completed your minimum term on the simo tariff you actually need to upgrade to a lower tariff.
If still inside your 12 months you have to pay off what you owe to reach end of contract first.
There is no way to just change to a cheaper tariff anymore.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

@Anonymous A sim only tariff is still a contract. It's either a monthly or yearly one, so what @MI5 has advised is correct. You cannot go to a lower tatriff until the current one has ended, or you pay off what's left of it, which I doubt would be of any saving to you. You can give 30 days notice when you're near the end and then speak to customer service about a lower tariff.
