True but if the contract was paid for by pocket money etc they will be paying twice once for the huge bill and still the ongoing contract

Even more reason for them to stay within their allowance then

We don't know the ago of her son !

He may be over 18 and working but cannot get a contract or had the contract taken out when he was below 18 yrs.

Absolutely right to make him 'pay the piper'....

My grandson has an S4 on contract. If he goes over his allowances /tariff he pays the extra. His Mum drew up her own 'contract' which he had to sign before he was allowed the phone

Some good tariff advice posted... No need for further padding.

As well as tesco, three also offer a way to prevent out of allowance spending but I think it is only on normal pay monthly accounts. It wont let me activate the feature on my sim only*. There's 2 blocks, one to prevent spending once an allowance has run out and the other to prevent calls that wouldn't be covered by an allowance

Details at http://support.three.co.uk/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBISAPI.DLL?Command=New,Kb=Mobile,Ts=Mobile,T=Article,varse...

*although that could also be because I'm on an older tariff
