I have a monthly contract but am not using it while I am away for a while, is there a way of putting my contract on hold until I am back in the UK or to bring the price down to a very minimum?

All I will say is I travel a lot and have a O2 contract. I use WiFi wherever I am..I contact friends and family over Skype, Whatsapp and Messenger. My bill is never higher when abroad than when I am in the UK...

Download TuGo and use over wifi. Calls and texts will come from your allowance and will work no matter what sim you have in the phone. I use it all the time here with a Thai sim

I use a local sim when abroad with a data allowance and tugo uses that data to connect and takes the calls from my UK allowance. The only extra cost is my local data charge.
