Being charged when no answer

Anonymous

Can anybody tell me why, when I call a member of my family,I get charged when there is  no answer or the phone is off.

My wife has just changed from PAYG to contract and it now happens when I call her.

Today she called into an O2 shop who gave her a number for me to call (4445) I did,all lines were closed but they charged me 50p. What the heck is going on?

My wife is on o2,my daughter is on Orange and my son is on EE. All contract.

Hi,

The cost to call payg customer service is £0.25p per call and if you connected to an out of hours message i believe a charge would be applied.

Opening times.

Monday-Friday 08:00 - 21:00
Saturday 09:00 - 18:00
Sunday 09:00 - 18:00

If you ring another person and they dont answer but a voicemail facility kicks in then you would be charged.

If the outgoing call does not connect but just rings and you end the call then a charge should not occur.

You do need to ring 02 customer services to have your account checked and if any credit has been taken in error they should return said credit.

You can ring the from a landline if thats better for you.

From a landline 0844 809 0222 5p / min

Another alternative is the online Live Chat facility.
