We have 2 phones, both on o2, one is a smasung s23 and one is an older Apple.

The apple phone has a much better service in north Wales, with  a good 3G  signal, while the Samsung is poor. Any ideas? - have tried all the usual, airplane mode on and off , rebooting etc.

It is actually better hotspotting the Samsung to the Apple phone !

@cjh2

Purely down to ability of the phone to receive and process the signal.

Some are better than others.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Have you tried switching the Samsung down to 3G in the Mobile Network settings

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

What do you mean by the "Samsung is poor"?

You may need to use Field Test mode on the Apple, and a suitable app on your Android, to compare which sites and/or carriers, both phones are connecting to.
