Why have I been charged air time on top of my contract amount.  I can't see how this can happen when the sim card I was sent has not been used yet.

Your billing starts as soon as the account is created, regardless of usage.

Is this Volt or something else.

Usually when a SIM is ordered charges start at that point.

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.
