A question about upgrading and paying off existing device plan

Hi all,

I want to upgrade to a new device and will have to pay off my current device plan, which is no problem. My question is, when you upgrade to a new device, does O2 perform a credit check even if you are an existing customer? If so, is the credit check done before you pay off the device plan? Ideally, I wouldn't want to pay off the device plan only to have the credit check fail and be unable to upgrade.

They will do a check the minute you sign up for your chosen handset even on upgrades as you are entering a new credit agreement.

Best to speak to Sales

You can message them on Social Media Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG

Or you can call them on 0800 081 0255

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

@SammyxVine

They do a pre credit check before you commit to anythng so you'll know if you're likely to pass or not.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

I doubt anyone here will disagree. Customer Service gets worse by the day, it seems.

@SammyxVine

The whole point of the pre check is to know if you will pass / fail or be referred.
