Just recently very text I send results in an overcharge.  Texts on The Classic PAYG should cost 2p - send one text today cost 10p?

I appreciate this is pence but very annoying when O2 seem to think they can charge what they like?  Have tried calling Customer Services yesterday to request a refund for yesterday's overcharging and was told PAYG is not a contract, O2 can charge what they like?  This isn't what my MY O2 account says.

This can't be right!  Are any other PAYG users having a similar problem?

o2's pricing hasn't changed since 2021 for Classic PAYG, for texts to standard rate numbers, was this a none standard rate / premium text message..

o2 cant charge what they like, they have to announce the charges and then put them in place later as per the terms.

I would hang up and try again, or  If you message O2 on Facebook (https://o2uk.co/O2CFB) , Twitter (https://o2uk.co/O2CTW) or Instagram (https://o2uk.co/O2CIG) , they should be able to help you with this

Current Phone: Sony XPeria Pro-I and Motorola Razr 5G
I also have a Planet Computers Gemini

I work in IT as an Enterprise Messaging and Collaboration Tools Administrator (Office 365, Slack and much much more) and manage hardware both Mobile and Desktop / laptop, my desk is a bit like PC World

We are all customers and dont have access to any o2 accounts

Thanks for your reply.

All overcharged texts were standard texts usually being seto O2 customers as well.

No idea why being constantly overcharged have had this PAYG account for years never a problem until the last few weeks.

Find PAYG O2 Customer Service call centre very poor.  Seem indifferent to be honest probably  because I am a low user who doesn't use data hence why PAYG account user.
