I have a pay as you go sim for emergenices. I make sure to turn off Mobile data before switching to the sim, each time my phone boots up i recieve a 50p charge for mobile data. It's wiped out my balance.

I really need my money back for emergency calls as I am self isolating 😞

You will have to call them to see if they will recredit you. Each time your phone reboots it will connect via mobile data before the wifi kicks in. The best way is to put the phone in flight mode and just use wifi
