Have you set up a charge to mobile, or been sending txt messages with lots of emojis in them, @Chrisc1?
Emojis in a text can convert it to a chargeable MMS, here is how to stop that: Guide: Accidental MMS Sending and How to Avoid it
Otherwise, a call to O2 to see what has cost you £8 is needed (or via O2's Social Media team, links just below).
