Muy wife has a new phone and asked O2 to change number from old phone to new one on 27th December.  Despite complaining twice this has not been done.  The sim in the old phone was different size to new phone which has the new siaze sim and a different number.

Why over a week and niothing has happened despouite being told by an O2 branch that it was done.

Anybody have the same problem.

Doing the best I can here to explain.  Bought new phone in an O2 shop.  They put in new sim with new number..  Old phone has older type large sim.  They say we will transfer number from old phone to new phone with new sim.  They say done it when in shop.  five days later nothing happened.  Complained they say very busy but should be OK shortly.  Still nothing.  Will go back to shop tomorrow.  Just asked if anybody has found a similer delay or problem.

Appears probably not done properly when in shop despite taking 30 mimns on their computer to make the change.

Anyway thanks for effort to assist.

If you just follow the sim swop process that I linked to you can do it yourself without the need to visit the shop again.
I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

Currently using:
Pixel 7a (O2 & Lyca), One Plus 6 (Sfr), iPhone 12 Pro Max (Vodafone)

@Benhur The easiest way to do the swap is to follow the link provided by @MI5. I find it very surprising that they messed up in the O2 store. I only ever did it once, but my number swapped to a new sim within 20 minutes of the store doing it.

I suggest you do as advised and do the swap yourself, but you may need a new blank sim, which you can get by either going in store or requesting one if you call Customer Service. The swap can take up to 24 hours to activate, but it's usually much faster than that.
