Last month I started a  topic titled "Why is 5G not available on PAYG?"

Unfortunately, the forum trolls and know alls hi-jacked it, and it was locked.

Today, 1st July, I noticed that my phone is now showing that I'm getting 5G on my PAYG phone.

I've opened this thread to inform anyone who is interested, that 5G is now available on PAYG.

Best wishes.

@Spindle Remember some handsets have a setting to turn 4G Calling on. Usually in the SIM settings

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

Yes, it's turned on in my phone settings under Connections, Mobile networks.

I'll test it again sometime.

Thanks

Seems to be working now, it stayed on 4G while I was on a call.

Hopefully should be

Not sure where O2 are up to in switching off 3G as it's supposed to be gone in 13 days.

Our local mast had 3g turned off a couple of weeks ago.

iPhone 16 seems to have 4g calling auto turned on as there is no longer any setting to turn it on with iOS 26.2. WiFi calling now seems to be working with me as of yesterday evening. I’m on pay and go rolling plan.
