Hi there
im having some trouble with my o2 email account. i know its been closed to an extent and can still receive emails through gmail and hotmail but this is where my problem lies. for the first 2-3 weeks i was still receiving my emails through gmail, but had noticed recently i hadnt had any for a while. so i logged into my gmail account through my laptop and discovered this error message when it flagged the problem
Authentication error.
Server returned error "[SYS/TEMP] message store is temporarily unavailable"
is anyone else having this problem??

I never really used the service directly, it was there for billing emails and two sub accounts only to function as recovery email addresses.
When you say ex-BB customers still have access to the O2 webmail, is that for those customer(s) who made the move to Sky only or all ex-BB customers?

Only those who stayed with O2 and/or moved to Sky should still have their O2 Email working.
I have no idea if leavers still have it.
I'm on Sky and mine still works, but obviously I'm in the process of winding it up, as I expect it to be gone by April for everyone.

OK! I left O2 for VM. I lost all of my sub email accounts. But my main email which I had when I joined O2 years ago still functions for sending and receiving. So either they failed to close all the required email accounts down or they intended to leave at least the main email address working for all ex-subscribers of their BB.
Doesn't bother me either way, as you said, it's not long until it's gone for everyone and I never really used it anyway. In fact, I make sure not to invest time in ISP provided email addresses which will be lost by means like this or leaving the ISP.

I agree, you soon tend to lose any trust in these companies.
