broke my phone out of contract

I'd like to but a new handset and there are better deals than My upgrades offer and I'd like to build my own plan.  but my phone has broken and live chat is down.  I want a new handset by tomorrow as I am a Keyworker, finishing a degree and a volunteer for Citizens Advice whilst being the sole carer for my 75-year-old Dad, - can't believe there isn't a chat function ... what to do?

You won't get a new phone by tomorrow. Things are running slowly due to the current situation. You would be better looking in Argos, Amazon or Tesco for any unlocked phone which will take your current sim. Or borrow one from someone who has a spare.
