Signal strength

Hi wondering if I could possibly get a reply here about the poor signal strength in my area, Chatteris, cambridgeshire, PE16 6.
Now on the network coverage section of the O2 website it states signal for making and receiving calls is very good, and on that basis I purchased a contract phone with O2. I'm lucky to get more than one bar at any time in the house or anywhere in town, rendering my iPhone about as much use as an iPod touch.
Why do O2 state there is a high level of service in my area when clearly there isn't?!
I've downloaded tugo in the hope I might be able to receive calls at home but even that is a touch and go app with lots of bugs still to be fixed.

as an electronic and IT engineer if my sim is faulty, i'll eat it, and my wife's sim as well!

As for rebooting  phones, I get that advice so often its a joke.

The only way to check with a proper field strength meter. As I don't own one, plan B is to cancel my O2 contract at its end, buy a few PAYG sims from your competitors and see what works best for me.

I should have done it years ago

By the way, still waiting for a return call on my landline from O2 after none of us could make calls on mobiles for last two days. Am not surprised

100% the correct thing to do.

I have no affiliation whatsoever with O2 or any subsidiary companies. Comments posted are entirely of my own opinion. This is not Customer Service so we are unable to help with account specific issues.

10 years? Why on earth have you been running round the garden for 10 years?

As soon as my contract was up I would have been gone...
