Seaside town Easter weekend population trebled. O2 WiFi cannot cope with demand no data, smart tv can’t use or any devices. Reported many times. Why is this still not fixed. Residents paying for service cannot use. Unhappy customers.

o2 is a Mobile Network Operator and WiFi is provided over BT ADSL / VMB Lines in Stores who sign up for o2 Wifi.
Move networks is one of the simplest answers, but I know all MNO's have the same problem in Tourist Areas where demand spikes for 2 or 3 days a year.
Or pester Scarborough Council to allow networks to put up more infrastructure and carry out appropriate works, to allow expansion.
My advice invest in landline Broadband, which is available all across the East Coast, and will provide a better service than Mobile Broadband, and its high latency.

Thanks for your reply. It is more than 2/3 days per year if you look at all the bank holidays through the year plus 6/7 weeks peak season July/August. I use a mobile router as I need it in other places away from home, normally it is quite good but not when demand is too high. thanks

Fibre optic broadband is an all around more reliable and lesser shared resource. Mobile wi-fi can be hit or miss.
