Roaming in France

Hello

I have O2Travel on a monthly contract and in May and in previous years I was able to use my IPhone 4 in a village in the south of France. Since returning to France in July and August in both Chamonix and in the same village in the south I have been unable to use Orange F or F SFR which are predominant in this area - I have to travel some distance to use Bouygues which seems to be the only carrier that likes O2.

I have used CHAT and telephoned to sort this out but O2 just states that it is a shame and the French carriers are the problem. Friends from England have joined us on holiday and they can access full functionality in the France and the village via EE and 3.

I have tried automatic connection and manual without success including resetting, turning of 3G, etc. as requested on chat.

My wife has a Nokia with a pay as you go O2 contract and she has the same problem which shows that it is only a problem for O2 clients.

Why is this? As there was no problem previously in May.

Hi BK33, sorry to hear about your issue. I've checked with support and unfortunately the answer you were given is correct, the problem is with the French carriers. It's surprising, though, that a manual network selection didn't work. Has it ever worked?
