I don't know what is going on here and I'm not sure I believe it, but a thread has appeared elsewhere saying that O2 Webmail will be closing at the end of the year according to an O2 Web Chat advisor.
Maybe Chiara could check this out as people using this service may need to make other arrangements.

Having read all of this thread I am still confused (it doesn't take much lol)
I am on O2 broadband, and am contracted in til next year on 'The All Rounder' £6.25 a month package so will be changing to sky automatically. Will I lose my o2 email address?

Read this http://www.o2.co.uk/o2email
Snippet :
I have O2 broadband, how am I affected?
O2 Home Broadband is now part of Sky. The O2 email service is not being withdrawn for Home Broadband customers and your o2.co.uk email address will continue to be available even when you've moved to Sky although your mailbox capacity will reduce from 1GB to 20MB.

No you won't, until such time as you agree a new contract with Sky.

Is webmail closing or not? If it is you should notify all users immediately - I certainly haven't been warned. The first I heard about it was when a friend warned me.

I use several o2 email address's. Not all have received a notification email!!!
The message that I did recieive went straight into my rubbish bin as I had thought that it was some kind of scam and didn't even go near a link like a safe user. I get many similar messages from all kinds of strange senders. How many others must have done the same as me?

Yahoo have recently changed their webmail.
To add an O2 account to Yahoo, go to:
Settings > Accounts > Accounts > Add
Make sure you tick "Set up to Receive emails", and make sure you untick SSL and set port to 110.

Yes, its now been confirmed that all 10 per month free o2 texts and e-mail and pop3/SMTP will be closed down for PAYG customers.
Alternative POP3 and SMTP mail services sent to and from your Outlook can now be done for free at Google Mail.
An extra 20 texts giving a totel of 30 free online texts can be done for free with an Orange PAYG SIM card at Orange.
Sorted and better off. Enjoy!
