M40 - very poor Internet (no internet)

Hello,

Does anyone experience the same issue ?

I was traveling along M40 from London to Birmingham. I noticed that all way down I was unable to use internet.

Phone shown only GPRS connection.

 

my phone is iphone 6s

Much of that route is 2g only.

A friend has given me this very interesting article to post. He makes the point that the coverage obligations refer to populated areas...not open countryside, road or rail links.

Even though major routes have high volumes of vehicles ....no operator has to cover them

Hence why most of the route is 2g only (and a large proportion of other motorways and links).

2g is vital for an emergency call whereas 3g is less important, particularly for the driver.
