So, I have "upgraded" to a 5G plan.
And shall receive a new Sim shortly.

( Why it needs to be a new Sim and plan ..... Typical O2 )

Anyway, slightly unsure of the procedure when said sim arrives. I ordered it via chat and the instructions given are as follows -

We'll be sending you a new blank 5G
SIM.You will need to activate the
new one by sending a text with the
word 'SWAP" to '20220' and keep the
same number. The text needs to be
sent from your old active SIM.(You
may need to adjust the new SIM size
to fit your phone)

So, I need to text with my existing 4g sim?
Then what?

Any insight would be appreciated

Text from the old number. Once that loses network coverage, put the new sim in the phone. You may need to reboot a couple of times before it registers on the network with the original number.

@BOSSGOGG

There is an online portal too https://swapmysim.o2.co.uk/

Generally it's all done in a couple of hours.
