It may not seem like it, but it's all about customer service - not point releasing something then it all goes wrong!
Perhaps if Apple did the same you wouldn't read as many horror stories on Facebook everytime they update their phones!
I generally use unlocked phones so O2 branding isn't really an issue for me.
I'm glad though that O2 check how the software works on their network and their phones. From what I remember of the last release, O2 were pretty quick releasing updates compared to other carriers.

Thanks captain.
This release is supposed to improve battery life, so hopefully it'll make a difference.
It's a bit soon yet, but can you let us know how your battery is doing with this release?

Quick update battery life is about the same I haven't noticed anything different on my 620 which hasn't got a great battery anyway,if you want Cortana you will have to change your region and language to usa as they are the only ones who have it at the moment we(uk) will get it later this year
I tried Cortana but it couldn't understand my accent so I reverted back to not having it.
My battery seems to be a bit better on the 920 now its run through a couple of cycles, but then it was shockingly bad with the original developers preview.
