Texting on Blackberry without internet

Anonymous
Not applicable

I have a blackberry curve 9320, and everytime I try to send a text message when I've turned off the internet on the phone it doesnt work. The text will just have a little sign next to it saying that its waiting, neither can I receive any messages when the internet is not on. Is this normal, because I would think that the internet is not required for texting.

Mobile network is not data. Mobile network is the phones signal. You need to turn off cell data or mobile data.

How are you turning you internet off and what type of signal do you have when it is off?

I go to manage connections and then untick the box that says mobile network.
