Nokia stopped working

Understand the fobbing off from o2. My Nokia has stopped working at home now for the last 2 weeks. I've been onto the online guru's, been into the o2 shop, got a new SIM, still doesn't work at home. I keep getting network not available, or, no network connection. Why does it work everywhere else? They are all baffled and say it must be something I'm doing and trying to flog me a new iPhone. Help!

You need to start your own thread and it sounds like a network issue.

Check your postcode here http://status.o2.co.uk/

I've asked a mod to move your post so don't worry about that bit for now.

As for your phone, does anyone else use o2 in your house and have the same problem?

How old is your house and does phone work if you step outside into the street or garden?

Ok, thanks. One other is with Tesco & that works fine. Mine seemed to coincide with a faulty mast. Mast repaird but no go with the phone. House is 1950's. When I drive up the road, the phone works. Bizarre.

Could the signal/network service be blocked by anything in the area?

Yes, that's possible but it would block the Tesco signal too.

The only way the Tesco one would work but not yours is if it was a fault only effecting certain numbers.

Can you try your sim in another phone? (not the Tesco one though if it is locked to Tesco network)

You really need to borrow or find another phone to try your sim in - just to rule your phone in or out one way or another.
