Nokia - Windows Phone 7.8 *RELEASED*

Hey Guys,

Got some great news for all you Nokia fans out there! You all will be delighted to know that we’re currently testing and working closely with Nokia UK to unveil the Windows Phone 7.8 software update for Lumia 610, Lumia 710, Lumia 800 and Lumia 900 soon to ensure it delivers a superb user experience.

Once we have a green light for the roll-out, we’ll update this post and O2 customers will be available to download the update via Zune. Exciting times, right?! Meanwhile, I’m curious to know which particular feature from the latest version (7.8) are you guys waiting for?

Update 31/01/2013: WP 7.8 is live for Lumia 610, 710, 800, and 900 and WP 8 PR 1.1 for Lumia 820 (OTA).

What does the update include? For Lumia 610, 710 & 800 devices, it includes:

• New features to the Start Screen, new colors and lock screen improvements.
• WP 7.8 OS includes enablers for new apps such as Bluetooth Share and Ringtone Maker.

For Lumia 820 devices, improvements include:

• Increasing device performance
• Browser enhancements and new ringtone capability.
• Improvements to the general functionality of the phone including NFC pairing, battery monitor performance and bluetooth connectivity.

Ok, it seems like you only did the one update, do the same method again and install the other two (one is the Nokia one)
I have an 800 too and I had to 'force' the update three times, best of luck!

I am trying to update my lumia 800, with Zune and it is saying that my phone is up to date, the OS is 7.10. If it has been released, why is my phone not picking up the update?

yes windows 7.8 has been released and will come in batches from Microsoft you could try and force the update. if you look back a few pages you find the instructions how to force update.

Hello,

The only thing I would add; when trying to force the upgrade (or upgrades; I had to do the "force" process three times before I got WP 7.8), is put your Lumia into Flight Mode.

Well ive just given myself a gold star! ive also got the lumia 800 and l couldnt wait for the update to arrive so after reading through this thread i saw the post with the link to the youtube video, watched it a couple of time and thought id give it a go!

Worked like a dream no problems at all now running windows 7.8....so you may ask whats so special about that? 3 things-

1st I'm female

2nd not tech savvy

3rd women are suppose to be able to multi-task who says??
